Tour Introduction

Kathmandu Valley Tour Kathmandu is the cultural and historical center of Nepal. The Kathmandu Valley Tour explores the UNESCO World Heritage Sites which are brilliant depictions of the art, culture, and architecture of the city during its medieval ages. The tour even incorporates one of the most revered Buddhist monasteries at Namobuddha on the hill station of Dhulikhel. From the antique architectural marvel of the Newar community to the secrets of Buddhism in Swayambhunath and Boudhanath, Kathmandu is everything all at once.

ITINERARY

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, our representative will warmly receive you at the Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer you to your hotel. After checking in, you’ll meet your tour guide and discuss the itinerary. In the evening, you can take a quick stroll around Thamel. Overnight In Kathmandu.

Accompanied by a guide, you’ll visit the popular UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu. The tour starts with the Kathmandu Durbar Square. Kumari Ghar, Trailokya Mohan Narayan Temple, Ashoka Vinayak temple, and Taleju temple are few of the major tourist landmarks in the area. Afterward, you’ll head north to the popular Buddhist stupa of Swayambhunath. It sits on top of a hill and is also known as the Monkey Temple. The tour moves to another popular Buddhist stupa of Boudhanath. After enjoying the local cuisine and architecture of Boudhanath, you’ll head down to Pashupatinath Temple. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, a Hindu deity, the large temple site remains open for hundreds of pilgrims who visit the temple every day. Overnight in Kathmandu.

The second day of the tour takes you to the neighboring cities of Patan and Bhaktapur. You’ll drive 7km southeast of your hotel along the Bagmati River to Patan. The city has closer links to Buddhism. Patan Durbar Square is one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites which is home to a palace-museum, Krishna Temple, Golden Temple (Hiranya Varna Manandhar), Taleju Bell, Narasingha Mandhir, and a historical water spout. After lunch, you’ll drive 12km east to the historic city of Bhaktapur. You’ll get to visit the Bhaktapur museum (National Art Museum) along with the Fifty-five Windowed Palace, Nyatapola Temple, Dattatreya Temple, Taleju Temple, Taumadi Square, and the famous Pottery Square within the Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Today, you’ll drive 31km southeast to the popular hill-station of Dhulikhel. Located in the outskirts of the Kathmandu valley, Dhulikhel remains one of the most popular tourist’s getaways. Afterwards, you’ll move 12km south to another hill-site of Namobuddha. This Buddhist pilgrimage site sits atop a hill and is home to Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery, one of the oldest and most revered Buddhist sites in Nepal. It is known as the site where Buddha, in a previous life, gave his body to a starving tigress and her cubs. You can catch glimpses of the Langtang and Ganesh Himal ranges from here. Overnight in Namobuddha.

After breakfast and brief sightseeing, you’ll drive back to Kathmandu city. The rest of the day is yours. You have the option of either further exploring the Kathmandu valley, or relax in your hotel. You can go to the nearby malls to catch a quick movie or go for souvenir hunting in the shops of Thamel. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Today our representative will drop you off at the Tribhuvan International Airport for your final departure. Farewell and Goodbye!
