ITINERARY
Upon arrival at the Terminal 3 of Kotoka International Airport, Accra-Ghana, You will be met by our staff and sent to your hotel. Overnight in Accra
Depart to the Western Region after breakfast. If the hustle and bustle of Accra mars the smooth tour you intend to have in Ghana, wait till you leave that behind as you enter a new and calmer region where you will see the rapid transformation. Your first stop will be to the Kakum National Park. It is a protected area of rainforest and home to endangered mammals such as forest elephant and monkeys. There is a canopy walkway which lies on top of this tropical rain forest and is the most preferred activity in the park. It hangs 30metres above the ground. You can also choose to enjoy a nature walk through the forest with an experienced park guide. Continue to Cape Coast Slave Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Cape Coast Castle was built in 1653 by the Swedish and later taken over by the British. It is regarded as the second biggest slave castle in Ghana and the most visited. Afterwards, you will depart to Busua. Upon arrival, you can relax at your beach front hotel. Overnight in Busua
After breakfast, you will walk along the beach and continue with a short hike through a tropical green jungle to fishing community called Butre. Upon arrival, you will visit a fort called Batenstein. This fort and trading post was established by the Dutch on the Gold Coast, now Ghana in 1656. Continue with a canoe safari on the River Butre and if we are lucky, we will see some mammals like monkeys, crabs, birds and others. Return back to Busua to have lunch and visit the beach to relax or engage in beach games such as football and volleyball. Overnight in Busua.
After a restful night, you will get your running shoes ready and prepare for a jungle run and also on the beach. Return to have breakfast and depart to visit an island close to Busua called Abokwa Island. This island will amaze nature lover with its special views. You will see Dixcove, Butre and Busua communities from an eagle’s view from Abokwa Island. Depart after your tour of this amazing island to Busua. Upon arrival, you will have lunch and visit the beach to have some surfing lessons or relaxation. Overnight in Busua
After breakfast, you will trek to Dixcove, a nearby community to tour a popular slave fort called Fort Metal Cross. It was originally known as Fort Dixcove and was a military structure which was used during the transatlantic slave trade period in Ghana. After your tour of this fascinating site, you will depart back to Busua to have a tour of the community. Depart afterwards to your hotel to relax as you await your late afternoon surfing lesson on the beach of Busua. Today is your last day to add up to the surfing skills you have learnt.
