During your classic Uganda Safari adventure, you will visit two of the best National parks in Uganda. Queen Elizabeth National park will offer you spectacular scenic and wildlife views with a highlight of the Tree climbing lions. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park will offer you tracking for man's closest relative the Gorilla.
ITINERARY
You will be picked up at Entebbe International Airport where you will be welcomed by your hotel representative or our guide dependent on booking. Then you will be transferred to your accommodation in Entebbe or Kampala
Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s second largest park, located at the base of the majestic Rwenzori Mountain range, adjacent to Lake Edward and Lake George. The park has a prolific game, including Gazelle, Uganda Kob, Warthog and Water-buck.
Lions are often sighted both in the park and at the entrance to the park. Be prepared for huge numbers of hippo and elephant, and keep your eyes peeled for a leopard lazing in the sunshine. Overnight at your Hotel/ Lodge
Have an early breakfast at your hotel and then head out for a long game drive in time to see the first rays of light. It’s a must see of any of these animals like Elephant, Buffalo, Lion, Waterbuck, Leopard, Uganda Kob, and many Warthogs.
In the afternoon you will take a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel which joins Lake George and Lake Edward. Here, you will see a lot of hippos (more than you can possibly imagine!), as well as a variety of other animals which come to the waterhole to drink or bathe. You can expect to see buffalo, crocodile, bathing elephant, and a range of beautiful birds. This will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your tour. Overnight at your Hotel/ Lodge
Have breakfast at the hotel and head to Ishasha where you will look for the tree climbing lions: The Lions have adopted tree climbing to enable them to escape from the sun If you are lucky you might spot a few during your game drive, so keep your eyes open and look up! Besides these famous lions, there is other interesting wildlife to be seen, like buffalo and the Uganda kob.
After lunch you will drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest; home of the Mountain Gorillas. overnight your hotel
Have an early morning breakfast, and after proceed to the park headquarters to have a briefing about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking in Bwindi. The rangers will then accompany you to the rain forest to start your search for the gentle giants. This walk can sometimes be tough and it needs someone so strong.
Trekkers are always advised to carry their rain coats and boots because the weather there is always unpredictable. There are also some potters who always help with the carrying of the luggage on behalf of the visitors but at a small cost. On sighting the gorillas, the rangers will guide you on handle them, especially by giving them a 6 meter distance as you enjoy them play around. It’s always not easy to predict how long gorilla tracking will take and this also depends on the location of some families since some of them are far from the park headquarters.
However, it always takes 2 to 8 hours to come into contact with them and the rangers will always be there to guide you. Trackers are also advisable to be physically fit before going for tracking.
Have an early breakfast and head out for a walk to the falls in Bwind Forest where you will have spectacular views of the hills of kigezi, birds and butterflies as well as bird spiece.
Enjoy morning breakfast and then go for a canoeing activity on Lake Bunyonyi where you will take photos of this beautiful lake, and interact with the locals. In the afternoon, proceed for a boat cruise to discover the wonders of lake buyonyi (Prison island, zip-lining). Overnight
After breakfast at the lodge, you will drive back to Kampala or Entebbe (Airport) stopping at the equator for the requisite snapshot and a bit of souvenir shopping.
Accommodation for tonight is not inclusive in the itinerary. If you wish to depart tonight from Entebbe Airport, make sure your flight is at 8 pm or later. If you want us to book one (or more) nights in Kampala and/or Entebbe, please let us know.
