Discovering the Galapagos Islands one of the wonders of the world. A volcanic archipelago in the Pacific Ocean is known as the Galápagos Islands. It is regarded as one of the top locations in the world for animal viewing. It is an Ecuadorian province that is located around 1,000 kilometers off its coast. A variety of plant and animal species, many of which are unique to this area, are protected by its remote topography. During his 1835 expedition, Charles Darwin saw the species of the Galápagos, which eventually served as the basis for his theory of evolution.
ITINERARY
Upon arrival at San Cristobal Island in Galapagos, you will be taken to your hotel in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. You will be taken to the interpretation center, a place to learn about the natural and human history of the islands. In the afternoon you will visit Tijeretas Hill located 2 km from the Interpretation Centre. It is the ideal place to enjoy a spectacular view of the white sandy beaches on one side and the rooftops of Puerto Baquerizo on the other. Lunch Included
Lobos Islands After a delicious breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and driven to the harbor to take a boat to Isla Lobos, a small flat islet, located northeast of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. The name Lobos Island comes from the fact that it is home to several sea lions, which frolic on the beach, their brown fur standing out against the white sand. Afterward, you can swim and relax on one of the island's beautiful beaches before returning to the small port town. In the afternoon you will return to the hotel. In the evening you will have free time for activities on your own. Kicker Rock The tour starts from the Tiburón Martillo tourist pier where you will embark on a yacht for 45 minutes until you reach Kicker Rock / Leon Dormido Once there you will be able to see a large number of birds such as blue-footed boobies, frigate birds, and pelicans due to the abundance of fish in the area. Breakfast and Box Lunch
In the morning, after a delicious breakfast, you will take a boat to Santa Cruz Island, where our specialized guide will take you on your first visit to the island. You will visit the upper part of Santa Cruz Island, on the way we will observe the change from dry vegetation in the lower part to a tropical rainforest in the upper part. The characteristic trees in the upper part of the island are the Escalecías and the Palo Santos. Here you will visit a farm, where you will have the opportunity to observe the famous giant tortoises in their natural environment. After the tour, you will enjoy a typical lunch. You will continue the tour to an impressive tunnel of almost 300 meters long, formed by lava flows (the outer part of the lava cooled faster than the inner part and therefore this tunnel was formed). In the afternoon you will take a short walk through the Charles Darwin Station: scientists from all over the world meet here for environmental protection projects (such as water analysis, animal welfare, influences of tourism). Here you can visit the turtle hatchery, where the animals are bred before being released back into the wild. Land iguanas can also be seen here. Arrival in the afternoon at the hotel. Breakfast - Box Lunch
Today you will take part in a yacht trip to an uninhabited island. It will be either Santa Fé, South Plazas, Bartolomé, or North Seymour. The destination will depend on availability, day of the week and National Park permits. Endemic land iguanas can be sighted in Santa Fé and Plazas. Bartolomé is known for its beautiful lava landscapes. At North Seymour you can see frigate birds, land iguanas, and blue-footed boobies. This excursion is not private and takes place in the company of other guests (maximum 20 passengers per boat). In the afternoon, you can enjoy some free time in Puerto Ayora. Breakfast - Box Lunch
In the morning you will travel (approx. 2,5 hours) from Santa Cruz in one of the public boats to the island of Isabela. In the afternoon you take the boat across the harbor bay and visit the small island 'Tintoreras' where you can also snorkel. You can usually see pelicans, penguins, blue-footed boobies, sea lizards, and white-tip sharks at Tintoreras. You will also see iguanas and sea lions. A short hike will take you through a strange volcanic landscape that has been formed mainly by AA lava, in contrast to most of the other islands, which were formed by lava. Breaksfast
An adventurous hike leads from Puerto Villamil to the Sierra Negra volcano (1,490 m). With a van or minibus, it is first about 20 km to Santo Tomás and then follows a small trail of 9 km to the crater rim of the volcano. From the crater rim, there is an impressive view of the caldera of approximately 10x9 km. From here, the trail leads in a semicircle around the caldera to some parasitic cones from which the vapors of the active volcano Chico rise. Darwin's finches, short-eared owls, flycatchers, and Galapagos hawks can often be seen. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight at the hotel. Breakfast - Box Lunch
In the morning half a day at leisure to enjoy by yourself, and in the afternoon transfer by boat to Santa Cruz. Breakfast - Box Lunch
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Baltra Airport to take your flight back to mainland Ecuador. Breakfast
