You'll depart from Arusha after breakfast and begin the two hour drive to Tarangire National Park.
Along the way you'll take in the changing landscape as Arusha's urban jungle is replaced by wide open plains and quaint Masai villages. Checking in at the park offers a good chance to see mischievous monkeys darting about in the shade and you can also pose with a gigantic Baobab at the park's entrance.
Once inside the park, you'll see the eponymous Tarangire river lined with acacia and Baobab where game amble to and fro throughout the day. During the dry season, thousands of animals from the Masai steppe migrate to the Tarangire region looking for water so you can see dozens of different species in a small amount of time.
Exclusive to the park are endangered animals such as the Greater Kudu, Fringe-Eared Oryx, and the Ashy Starling.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the park's picnic areas and take in an unparralelled view of the Tarangire River. Keep an eye on your food though, as the local monkey population will be only too happy to make off with a tasty treat if given the opportunity!
You'll return to Arusha late in the afternoon.
Tarangire is the least visited of the parks along Tanzania's northern circuit, and it's a crying shame. The park's large elephant population, iconic Baobab trees, and diversity of wildlife make it one of the best parks in the country for taking breathtaking photos or simply basking in the beauty of the world's largest land mammals. Game drives through Tarangire are particularly thrilling during the dry season when the animals of the park must cluster closer and closer to the Tarangire River. This offers a great opportunity to see plenty of animals in one place and to witness the predator-prey relationship in action. What are the visa requirements?
- Although most nationalities can obtain a visa upon arrival in Tanzania, it is the sole responsibility of every traveller to be in possession of all required documents. We therefore strongly suggest that you contact your respective embassy for the latest visa regulations.
What vaccinations are needed and is Tanzania a malaria region?
- Officially no vaccinations are required but seeing that Tanzania is located in a yellow fever region, we suggest getting a yellow fever vaccination for your own piece of mind.
- Despite the fact that Tanzania does not require you to be vaccinated against Tetanus, Diphtheria, Polio or Hepatitis A&B, we would strongly advise to have those shots up to date.
- Malaria is also a concern and we therefore recommend that some precautionary measures are taken. For more detailed information on prophylaxes and the effects and possible side effects, please contact your doctor or travel clinic.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ By Elius Faustine
A billion dollar experience on top of Africa 7 Days Kilimanjaro Machame Route Trek I started planning my long-awaited tour to Kilimanjaro by enquiring online and Alkebulan Travels Manager impressed me by providing prompt responses and professional advices as well as reasonable price. My solo tour was accompanied by Mountain guide Charles who has summitted Kilimanjaro More than 200 times with rich experiences. He and his team guided me all the way from rain forest, moorland, alpine desert to the snow capped summit with delicious and high energy food and hot water everyday. On the day of summit, thanks to the perfect guidance and encouragement of Charles, I was the first to reach the summit at 6:21 am on that day, much faster than any other climbing team, which was an unbelievable achievement for myself. Charles and another porter sang Hakuna Matata on top of Africa just for me to celebrate the moment! After summiting, Alkebulan Travels even organized a celebration party for me In Arusha, with all the porters, chef, waiter coming to share a cake of congratulations and the joy with me. Looking back, every detail of my trip was so perfect and I must attribute all my accomplishment during the tour to Impatiens tours, the best travel agency at the foot of Kilimanjaro
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ By Yesaya JacksonThank you Alkebulan Travel for a Safari of a lifetime! With the help of Charles and Daniel, we were able to achieve the most amazing and incredible trip, the most incredible guide Thomas we had, full of wildlife and its surrounding knowledge. From the beginning We had lots of communication through email and our trip was designed specifically to all of our requests. We had accommodation arranged at several lodges according to our itinerary, that surely raised our expectations. The accommodation offered very delicious meal choices that complimented our stay. It was a family trip, we traveled with our 79 year old mother and everyone was very kind to him. We honestly couldn’t have imagined a better experience. We saw the big 5 (and lots of them), and well as all other animals we were hoping to see and more. We were able to add on a hot air balloon ride which was brilliantly followed by champagne breakfast. We are also very happy that we drove from each location to the next, as we were able to see so many different aspects of the country. Some of the drives were long, but they were broken into shorter, more manageable sections with stops or meals. If you’re thinking about a safari, let Alkebulan Travels take care of the planning- you won’t regret it!
