ITINERARY

Nous vous accueillerons à l’aéroport international du kilimandjaro avant de vous transférer jusqu’à l’hôtel springlands de moshi, à une heure de voiture de l’aéroport.

Après le petit déjeuner, nous partirons en direction du parc national du kilimandjaro où nous débuterons l’ascension par la traversée du plateau shira où vous pourrez contempler les plus majestueux animaux du continent africain jusqu’à votre arrivée à l’entrée du parc londorosi d’où vous entamerez votre itinéraire à destination du campement mti mkubwa.

Vous traverserez un paysage de basses landes parsemé d’arbrisseaux et de fleurs sauvages avant d’accéder au campement shira d’où vous aurez une vue des plus spectaculaires sur le volcan kibo.

Journée d’acclimatation au cours de laquelle vous vous rendrez au second campement shira.

Vous prendrez la direction de l’est et traverserez une zone rocheuse. A la suite du déjeuner vous effectuerez l’ascension du dôme volcanique (lava tower). C’est à partir de cette altitude que vous ressentirez l’altitude. En direction du campement barranco, vous pourrez réaliser de superbes clichés de la brèche occidentale et de la muraille barranco. Nous arriverons au campement à l’heure du coucher du soleil.

Après le petit déjeuner, nous quitterons barranco et continuerons sur une crête escarpée en passant le mur de barranco, jusqu’au camping de la vallée de karanga. Ceci est une courte journée d’acclimatation.

Une fois arrivés au campement barafu, vous ne serez alors plus qu’à 1345m du sommet. Prenez également bien soin de vous familiariser avec le terrain afin qu’aucun accident ne survienne lorsque vous devrez vous lever au cours de la nuit. Les tentes seront installées sur une arrête rocheuse étroite et dangereuse sans cesse exposée aux coups de vent. Nous nous coucherons vers 19h.

Nous lèverons donc le camp et nous nous dirigerons en direction du stella point où nous profiterons d’un des plus beaux levers de soleil. À partir de stella point, nous nous retrouverons dans un univers exclusivement neigeux, et ce jusqu’au sommet du kilimandjaro, le pic uhuru. Le temps que nous passerons sur le sommet dépendra des conditions météorologiques mais vous aurez le temps de savourer votre exploit! Nous redescendrons vers le camp de mweka en environ 7 heures.

Après le petit-déjeuner, nous traverserons le village de Mweka pour être transférés à l’hôtel. L’occasion de profiter d’une bonne douche et d’un copieux déjeuner. Vous recevrez votre certificat récompensant vos efforts!

Après le petit-déjeuner à l’hôtel, nous organiserons votre transfert jusqu’à l’aéroport en fonction de vos horaires de vol.

Covid Safety

Tanzania Wildlife Adventures will appoint a COVID-19 Liaison Officer, based at the company’s Head Office. This designated person will be the point of contact with the relevant Tanzanian Government Ministry. In addition, this officer will have the following responsibilities:

  1. To keep up-to-date with all Tanzanian Government requirements, protocols, preventative measures, policies and procedures in respect of the COVID-19 pandemic
  2. To keep up-to-date as to the identity and location of all designated approved hospitals, medical clinics and mobile clinics in Tanzania for the testing and treatment of COVID-19
  • To develop, maintain, implement and monitor all sanitizing and hygiene procedures for each company location and vehicle in which the company operates
  1. To develop, maintain, implement and monitor any special sanitizing and cleaning procedures as appropriate
  2. To develop, maintain, implement and monitor all limits to capacity for each company location and vehicle in which the company operates
  3. To develop, maintain, implement and monitor all physical/social distancing requirements for each company location and vehicle in which the company operates
  • To develop, maintain, implement and monitor all COVID-19 procedures relevant to Tanzania Wildlife Adventures  guests for each company location and vehicle in which the company operates
  • To develop, maintain, implement and monitor all COVID-19 procedures relevant to Tanzania Wildlife Adventures staff for each company location and vehicle in which the company operates
  1. To develop, maintain, implement and monitor all COVID-19 procedures for PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) relevant to Tanzania Wildlife Adventures guests for each company location and vehicle in which the company operates
  2. To develop, maintain, implement and monitor all COVID-19 procedures for PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) relevant to Tanzania Wildlife Adventures staff for each company location and vehicle in which the company operates
  3. To develop, maintain, implement and monitor all COVID-19 procedures for dealing with guests exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, or suspected of having COVID-19
  • To develop, maintain, implement and monitor all COVID-19 procedures for dealing with staff exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, or suspected of having COVID-19
  • To develop, maintain, implement and monitor all health records for Tanzania Wildlife Adventures guests
  • To develop, maintain, implement and monitor all health records for Tanzania Wildlife Adventures staff
  1. To develop, maintain and monitor records of all cleaning and sanitizing records for each company location and vehicle in which the company operates
  • To ensure adequacy of stocks of all PPE materials for guests and staff at all times for each company location and vehicle in which the company operates
  • To ensure that all guests are fully aware of all COVID-19 procedures and are provided with sufficient information in respect of such procedures
  • To ensure that all staff are fully trained in and aware of all COVID-19 procedures and are provided with sufficient information in respect of such procedures; to ensure that all training is regularly updated and that retraining is carried out where necessary
  • To liaise with any external body, including Government departments or ministries as necessary, in respect of their requirements
  1. To ensure that all notices as required by the Tanzanian Government are correctly displayed in the necessary places, in particular with contact details of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, the MoHCDGEC & PORALG

Guests’ Medical Declaration Form:

All guests will be required by Tanzania Wildlife Adventures  to complete a compulsory Medical Declaration Form. A form must be completed for each individual guest and this will be sent to each guest by our Health and Safety Department, one month prior to the guest’s arrival in Tanzania. The form will be completed and signed and will include the following information for each guest:
